Friends of St Mary's
The Friends of St Mary's School is a registered charity open to parents/carers, teaching staff, Governors and anyone interested in the welfare of the school.
We are a vibrant, dynamic group and our aim is to make our children's education a rich, varied and fun experience. We believe that a school is a community to which every parent/carer can contribute for the benefit of their children.
We hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year including the Yate Scarecrow Trail, Christmas fair, discos, tuck shops, family bike ride, cake sales, and the St Mary's 5K and fun runs - among others! We meet once a term and welcome any new members.
In the 2018–19 school year we raised a record-breaking £18,050 from various events.
This has allowed us to help fund new improvements to the Church Road entrance area, pond and wildlife zone, new friendship benches in the playgrounds, a trip for every class in the school, school experiences, play equipment, new iPads and laptops, sports equipment and reading book boxes for classes.
During the 2019-20 school year our target is once again to raise more than £10,000 for the school.
